Terms of service

Citeable is a service operated by Baudot Systems Ltd, Plot 26, Ndawula Road, Village 19, Ntinda, Nakawa Division, 216257 Kampala GPO, Uganda. In these terms, "we" and "us" mean Baudot Systems Ltd. By using Citeable you agree to what follows.

Citeable fetches a web page you nominate and reports whether AI assistants and their crawlers can retrieve it, read it without executing JavaScript, and quote it. Paid plans re-run that check on a schedule and email you when the result changes.

We measure whether your pages can be retrieved and parsed. We do not and cannot promise that any AI assistant will cite you, that your traffic will rise, or that your score correlates with revenue. Anyone selling you that promise is guessing. Checks are labelled with how strong the evidence for them is, and we score unproven measures at zero weight.

The service is provided as is. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, and a scheduled check may be delayed or missed, for example if your server is unreachable at the moment we check. When a check cannot be completed we record that and compare nothing, rather than measuring part of your site and reporting the difference as a change: the effect is an occasional week with no comparison instead of an alert about something that did not happen. Do not use Citeable as your only monitoring for something business-critical.

Scan sites you own or are authorised to assess. Do not use the service to load-test, overwhelm, or probe systems you have no relationship with. We rate limit, we refuse private and internal network addresses, and we will block accounts used to direct traffic at third parties.

Paid plans are monthly and cancel at any time from Manage billing on your own list of sites, which opens the billing page Dodo Payments keeps for you — payment details, invoices and cancellation, without asking us. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep the plan until the period you have paid for ends. There is no lock-in, no minimum term, and no cancellation fee, and you never have to email a person to stop paying.

Payments are processed by Dodo Payments, which acts as merchant of record. Your contract for the purchase is with Dodo Payments, and Dodo Payments handles billing, invoices and sales tax. Their terms apply to the transaction itself.

To the extent the law allows, our liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost traffic, lost rankings or lost revenue.

If we change these terms materially we will say so on this page and, for paying customers, by email before the change takes effect.

These terms are governed by the laws of Uganda, where Baudot Systems Ltd is registered. Nothing here removes any right you have under the consumer law of your own country.
